SITA 153 transfer paper A3 format [sheet]
SITA 153 is a type of thermal transfer paper that allows you to print patterns on various textile substrates. It can be used with a color laser printer and a thermal transfer press. The technique is simple and does not require specialist knowledge or training.
How does SITA 153 paper work?
There are several important points to remember when considering the operation of SITA 153 paper. This medium has a special thermosensitive coating that allows the transfer of toner powder from the printer to the paper.
In this way, you can print a graphic that is transferred to the target substrate, for example a white cotton T-shirt. Under the influence of heat and pressure, the thermosensitive coating together with the toner melts and adheres permanently to the cotton fibers. After opening the press and removing the paper, the pattern will be visible on the T-shirt. This is a very simple process.
However, it should be remembered that SITA 153 does not like too high temperatures during the printing process, so it is necessary to conduct tests.
Each printer has a heating drum that automatically adjusts the temperature to the paper weight. Since most laser printers are unable to accurately determine the paper weight, it must always be entered manually. Below are the initial recommended settings for some printer models.
It is recommended to start with a lower weight than the SITA 153 specification. You should also use a manual paper feeder, not a collective feeder, and print single sheets, not many at once.

Benefits of using SITA 153 - thermal transfer paper
The most important advantage of SITA 153 compared to other thermal transfer papers is its resistance to washing in a home washing machine.
A print made using SITA 153 is much more durable than with other types of paper. The washing tests carried out at a temperature of 40 degrees showed very good results even after 20 washes.
In the opinion of our customers, the washing resistance of prints made using this medium is comparable to DTG and DTF techniques.
Another argument for using SITA 153 paper is the possibility of making different numbers of prints. A laser printer can print one pattern or 20 patterns - it does not matter to it, especially since having a color laser printer is no longer a rarity.

SITA 153 paper and parchment - this is what you need to remember!
When performing the thermal transfer procedure, we want to achieve the best possible effects that will last for a long time. This is where A3 parchment comes in handy, which must be remembered when making thermal prints using SITA 153 paper.
To achieve optimal print quality and durability, after opening the thermal transfer press, it is necessary to perform an additional step. After removing the transfer paper, you can place parchment paper on top of the print and then close the press again using the same temperature and time parameters that were used during the transfer. This additional step is crucial to achieving a uniform structure of both the print and the fabric itself.
It is also worth remembering that printing on SITA 153 paper should always be done in mirror image.
